Sean Fusir

Sean Fusire is a Sheffield-born player who ended up playing international football for Zimbabwe, and the club he joined at the age of nine in 2014.

He came through the academy, moving up through the under-18 and under-21 sides before signing his first professional contract on 9 December 2022. His senior debut followed within two months: an FA Cup replay against Fleetwood Town on 7 February 2023. On 3 January 2025 he signed an extension that keeps him at Sheffield Wednesday until the summer of 2028.

Fusire is right-footed and is used mainly as a right-back or right wing-back, though he has also been deployed in midfield. In January 2025 he joined Carlisle United on loan until the end of the 2024–25 season and made 14 appearances, without a goal or an assist. He then went back to Sheffield Wednesday.

The international side of his career opened in May 2025, when he declared his eligibility for Zimbabwe. He made his debut on 6 June 2025 against Burkina Faso. Head coach Marian Marinica included him in the squad for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations. A knock ruled him out of the opening match against Egypt, but he returned to full training and stayed in the squad.

In 2026 he was part of the Zimbabwe team that finished third in the tournament.
