About the player
Barglan was born in Lelystad and represents Sudan, the country of his parents, though he has never visited it himself. He came through the Den Bosch academy after joining at the age of ten, having started out at Blauw Geel '38, and spent a decade in the club's youth system before making his senior debut in the Eerste Divisie in the 2023-24 season. The following season Den Bosch went up to the Eredivisie.
He signed his first professional contract in February 2024 and extended it that September through to the middle of 2027, with an option to add a further year.
On the international side, Barglan made his senior debut for Sudan in October 2023 against Tanzania and has since won further caps, taking part in World Cup qualifiers and earning a place in the squad for the Africa Cup of Nations. He has yet to score for the national team. Coverage around his international appearances has framed him as a source of hope for Sudanese supporters following the country through a period of civil war.
