About the player
Gillingham's manager Gareth Ainsworth described Sheldon Kendall as an "edge-of-seat" winger, and the 2026/27 season has given the forward the chance to show why. He joined the club on a season-long loan from Millwall, announced on 4 August, and made his debut four days later in the EFL Cup against Luton Town.
Kendall has since played in League Two and the EFL Trophy, and has scored twice. One of those was part of a brace scored after coming off the bench.
His route to Gillingham began in Croydon, at the Volenti Academy. He moved to Millwall's academy at Under-14 level and worked through the club's youth sides, playing for the Under-18s and the Under-21s. He signed his first professional contract in January 2025.
His senior debut came that same month. He came on as a substitute in an FA Cup tie against Dagenham & Redbridge. It was one of three first-team appearances for Millwall, the others being two in the EFL Cup and this one in the FA Cup. The loan to Gillingham is his first extended spell of regular senior football.
Kendall was born in England and plays internationally for Guyana. He has appeared for the Guyana Under-20 side and scored two goals in qualifying for the 2026 CONCACAF U-20 Championship.
