Tobias Kainz

Tobias Kainz grew up in the youth system around Feldbach and Weiz, spending time at USV Edelsbach and LAZ Weiz while also training with the Sturm Graz academy, before a move to Austria Wien's Hollabrunn setup pointed him abroad. SC Heerenveen took him to the Netherlands, and he made his professional debut for the club in the Eredivisie during the 2010/11 season.

He came back to Austria in 2012 on a free transfer to Sturm Graz, where he spent two seasons without finding the net in 33 appearances. Spells at Wiener Neustadt and Grödig followed. A brief move to Ireland in 2017 brought little football: Limerick FC gave him a single League Cup appearance against Cork City before the two sides parted by mutual consent that June. He joined Kapfenberger SV, scoring once in 34 outings, before joining TSV Hartberg on a free transfer.

Hartberg is where Kainz has stayed the longest and become a fixture. He has passed 239 appearances for the club and reached double figures for goals. His contract there was extended in 2024, running to 2026. At international level, he never reached the senior Austria side, but he did go through the youth ranks up to under-21, where he won 11 caps and scored once.
