About the player
Talles Costa came through São Paulo FC's youth academy and worked his way through to a first-team debut in April 2021. He made 36 appearances in the Brazilian Série A, scoring once, and picked up two honours along the way: the Campeonato Paulista in 2021 and the Copa do Brasil in 2023.
His development was flagged early at international level. Costa was part of the Brazil squad that won the 2019 FIFA U-17 World Cup, and he later trained with the senior national team in 2022 and 2023, though a full cap at that level never followed.
In February 2024 he left Brazil for Ukraine, signing for FC Polissya Zhytomyr in a deal reported at €1 million — a fee that ranked among the most expensive in the club's history. He made 37 league appearances and scored one goal, including in the 2025/26 season, before his release in July 2026.
He moved on immediately, joining Israeli Premier League side Hapoel Ironi Kiryat Shmona as a free agent on a contract running to June 2027.
