Tristan Kuijsten

Tristan Kuijsten grew up in Almere and started out in the youth ranks of his hometown club before moving to AZ Alkmaar's academy, where he worked his way up to the under-19 side. In the 2022/2023 season he was part of the AZ squad that won the UEFA Youth League. He made his senior debut for Jong AZ in the Eerste Divisie against FC Den Bosch, and went on to make 12 appearances for the side in the 2024/2025 campaign.

In July 2025 Kuijsten returned to Almere City on a free transfer, signing a contract until mid-2028. The move was framed as a homecoming: he lives close to the Yanmar Hanasaka Stadion and planned to cycle to training. At Almere City he is competing with Jonas Wendlinger for the starting goalkeeper's jersey.

Kuijsten has moved steadily through the Dutch youth international set-up. After two caps for the under-15s, he became a regular for the Netherlands under-17s, starting every match as the side reached the final of the 2022 UEFA European Under-17 Championship, where they were beaten by France. He added caps at under-18 level before stepping up to the under-19s, where he was named in the squad for qualification for the 2024 UEFA European Under-19 Championship.
