About the player
Cheltenham had themselves paid a reported £20,000 to Stoke City for him a year earlier.
He grew up in Tarporley and joined the Chester academy at nine. His first senior contract followed in June 2020, and he played six league games for the club, plus two on loan at Stalybridge Celtic. In February 2021 Stoke City signed him for an undisclosed fee.
Instead he went out on loan, first to Hartlepool United, where he made ten league appearances, and then to Torquay United. He played 28 league games for them.
In January 2025 he was sent on loan to Wigan Athletic and played six league games. For 2025–26 he went to Colchester United , where he played 28 league games and scored four goals.
His Oxford contract ran out in June 2026, and he joined Gillingham on a free transfer.
