Yunus Akgün

Yunus Akgün came through Galatasaray's own academy, joining in 2011 after starting out at Kosova Güç Spor, and made his professional debut for the club in the 2018 Turkish Super Cup against Akhisar Belediyespor. He was still a teenager that season but already had a taste of silverware, and in January 2019 he scored a hat-trick against Boluspor in the Turkish Cup.

Two loan spells at Adana Demirspor followed, the first in the TFF First League and the second in the Süper Lig, before he returned to Galatasaray for the 2022–23 season. A further loan took him to Leicester City for the 2023–24 season, where he made 29 appearances across all competitions and scored in the FA Cup against Birmingham City. He was part of the Leicester squad that won the EFL Championship title before returning to Galatasaray in the summer of 2024.

At international level, Akgün has represented Turkey, with his first goal coming against Lithuania in the Nations League. He was named in the squad for UEFA Euro 2024.

Domestically, his medal collection now includes two Süper Lig titles with Galatasaray, two Turkish Cups and a Turkish Super Cup, alongside the First League title he won on loan with Adana Demirspor and the Championship crown from his year at Leicester.
