Youssouf Soukouna

Youssouf Soukouna reached First Vienna FC in July 2026 after a long climb through French lower-league football, and he has settled quickly in the Austrian 2. Liga. He has made seven appearances for the club and scored three goals.

The move came on a free transfer, as every move in his career has. Vienna present him as a versatile attacker who can play on either wing or through the middle. Statistical sites list him as a right winger in some places and a striker in others.

His route was gradual. He started with the reserve side of FC Chambly in 2018, then worked his way through Évreux, Beauvais, Blois and Les Herbiers. US Concarneau was the longest stay. He joined in July 2024 and became a regular starter in the French National leagues, playing more than 60 games and scoring in double figures over two seasons.

He holds French and Malian citizenship. He has not played for either country at any level, and he has not won a major title or individual award. His career has been built on steady starts at clubs outside the top flight, and Vienna is the first time he has played abroad.

At 188 centimetres he offers a physical presence up front, though his profile is that of a winger who moves across the line as much as a target man.
