AC Connecticut

Black Rock FC and New England FC also get mentioned as rivals, but Rush is the name attached to the club.

The club has spent much of its life moving between grounds. Its home matches have been played at Veterans Stadium in New Britain, at Reese Stadium at Yale University, at Central Connecticut State University, and at the Westside Athletic Complex at Western Connecticut State University in Danbury. Since then it has settled at Trinity Health Stadium in Hartford, which holds 2,500 and is shared with Hartford Athletic of the USL Championship.

The club also separated from its parent organisation, Connecticut Football Club, and took the name it uses today. The "AC" stands for Associazione Calcio and honours the owner's Sicilian roots. The first U.S. Open Cup appearance followed in 2015 and ended in the first round.

The link with Hartford Athletic, announced in 2021, gave the club a defined purpose as a development pathway. Damon Rouse is the clearest example. In 2022, at 16, he signed a USL Academy contract with Hartford Athletic.

The club began as CFC Azul, registered on December 21, 2011, as an arm of Connecticut Football Club. It entered the USL Premier Development League, now called USL League Two, in 2012.
