Alcochetense

Play a match against Clube Olímpico do Montijo: everyone in Alcochete calls it the Clássico.

2024–25 was one of them. Alcochetense won the Campeonato Distrital da 1ª Divisão de Setúbal, and the win carried it up into the Campeonato de Portugal for the first time in years. A season earlier the club had already lifted the Taça AF Setúbal, beating Alfarim 3–1 in the final and earning a place in the Taça de Portugal — a competition where its best run remains a Round of 32 appearance back in 2011–12.

The club's green and white were chosen in a nod to Sporting CP, and the connection has since become more than a colour scheme: a formal partnership signed with Sporting in July 2021 and renewed in 2024 covers youth development and shared facilities, helped along by Alcochetense's location next to the Academia Cristiano Ronaldo. Not many academy graduates have gone on to senior football elsewhere — Bernardo Neves, who moved on to Os Belenenses, is the name usually mentioned.

Founded on 1 January 1937 by a group of local boys, a moment the club still traces back to its own founding minutes book, Alcochetense has spent most of its history at district level, with a brief run in the Terceira Divisão between 1973 and 1981 and a difficult season in the old Segunda Divisão B in 1999–2000 that ended in relegation. Now, back in the fourth tier after last season's title, the task is simply to hold that ground.
