BAK '07

The club began as an athletics society, not a football side. Its members trained for track and field, and the football department arrived only in 1908. The same body later became known for organising the Berlin Marathon. For most of the century that followed, the football team played in the lower Berlin city leagues as an amateur side.

After German reunification the climb was quick: from the Kreisliga A to the Oberliga Nordost, the fourth tier, by 1999. In 2006 the club looked for financial security in a partnership with the Turkish club Ankaraspor, took the name Berlin Ankaraspor Kulübü and played in blue and white. Ankaraspor withdrew in 2007. The club was left in debt and close to bankruptcy, and it survived on its youth team. Under president Mehmet Ali Han the debts were cleared, and in 2011 the traditional name and the red and white returned.

The Berliner Landespokal, the Berlin Cup, was won in 2010 and again in 2012. The second win sent BAK '07 into the 2012–13 DFB-Pokal, and in the first round the fourth-tier side beat the Bundesliga club TSG 1899 Hoffenheim 4–0.

BAK finished second in the Regionalliga Nordost in 2016 and again in 2019. In 2015–16 the coach was Steffen Baumgart, and the team narrowly missed promotion to the 3. Liga. In 2024/25 it plays in the NOFV-Oberliga Nord, the fifth tier, at the Poststadion in Moabit.
