That changed in 2024, when Banga won the Lithuanian Cup — the first major honour in a history that runs back to 1966.
It had been a long approach. Banga reached the Cup final in 2011, lost it, reached it again in 2014, lost that one too, and lost a third in 2019. The fourth attempt settled it.
In the league the club has never come close to the title. Fourth place in the 2020 A Lyga season stands as the high-water mark. The Cup, rather than the championship, is where the club has made its case.
