Baník Sokolov

Fourth tier now, in the B group of the 4. liga, after the drop from Divize in 2024 followed the one from the second tier four years earlier.

The club carried the coal company's name for most of its life. It began on 7 July 1948 as SK HDB Falknov nad Ohří, tied to the mining trust, then went through a string of mergers — with ZTS Sokol HDB Sokolov that same November, into TJ Baník Sokolov in 1957, with TJ Jiskra Sokolov in 1958 — before the fall of the communist government in 1992 fixed the name as FK Baník Sokolov. The black and white kit still points back to that origin.

The furthest the club went was 2011/12, finishing third in the Second League and turning down promotion. Eight years later, with the coal money gone, the club restructured as FK Baník Sokolov 1948, s.r.o. and dropped itself down voluntarily rather than fold.

The Stadion FK Baník Sokolov holds 5,000, with 770 seats. The trophy case is regional — a district title in 1951, the Západočeský pohár in 2000, the Karlovy Vary region championship in 2005 — nothing from the national game.
