Bashkimi Kumanovo

Petar Georgievski managed Bashkimi through the 2004/05 season. The club won the Macedonian Cup, beating Žepče 2-1 in the final. It bought the club a run in the UEFA Cup that autumn, where Bashkimi got past Bosnia's Žepče in the first qualifying round — Žepče were thrown out for fielding an ineligible player — before Maccabi Petah Tikva ended it in the second round. Bashkimi never went higher than 6th in the First League, in that season and the one after, and never touched the title.

The club had been founded in Kumanovo in 1947 to represent the town's Albanian community; the name means "unity" in Albanian. For most of the Yugoslav era it sat in the republican lower leagues, and it took until 2002/03 for Bashkimi to win the Second League and reach the top flight for the first time.

What restarted in 2011 as FK Bashkimi 1947 Kumanovo carries the name and the colours, green and black, but not the registration — the federation keeps its records separate from the old club's. It began again in the third tier and stayed there for over a decade before winning the North group of the Third League in 2022/23, then went up again through the play-offs in 2024, returning to the First League for 2024/25. Home games are played at the Bashkimi Stadium, once known as the Milano Arena, which holds 3,500.

Back in the top flight, Bashkimi find the old local needle waiting: Milano, the club that never got its merger, plays in the same city.
