Berdenia Berbourg

Daniel Huss came back to Berbourg in 2014 not as the international his country remembered but as a coach, taking charge of a club that had spent its history well outside the reach of Luxembourg's top flight. He stayed two years, and by the time he left in 2016 the shirt had carried names such as Ernad Sabotic, who arrived from Jeunesse Esch for a single season, and, years earlier, Jeannot Reiter, another former national-team player who turned out for the Osos between 2007 and 2009.

Berdenia was founded in Berbourg in 1948 and joined the Luxembourg Football Federation the following year. The village has no senior neighbour to provide a natural rival, so its competitive life has run almost entirely through the Promotion d'Honneur, a level the club has treated as home rather than a stop on the way up. It broke through that ceiling twice: winning the third-tier Luxembourg 2. Division in 2001, and the Éirepromotioun, one step higher, in 2020.

None of that run of results changed who Berbourg talks about when it talks about Berdenia. That is still Huss, the man who wore the national shirt and CS Grevenmacher's colours before he came to coach the Osos.
