Borussia Dortmund II

Borussia Dortmund II have won the Regionalliga West three times, in 2008–09, 2011–12 and 2020–21, and each title took them up to the 3. Liga. The first one brought little staying power. They were promoted in 2009 and relegated again in 2009–10. The second lasted longer, and they stayed up until 2014–15. The 2021 promotion ended with relegation in 2024–25.

Before the Regionalliga years, the side was Borussia Dortmund Amateure, a name it carried until 2005. Under that name it won the Oberliga Westfalen in 1997–98, 2001–02 and 2005–06. The Westphalia Cup final of 1991 was lost, but finishing as runners-up still gave them a place in the first round of the DFB-Pokal in 1990–91.

İlkay Gündoğan, Shinji Kagawa and Marco Reus all came through the reserves, as later did Julian Brandt and Youssoufa Moukoko.

The Stadion Rote Erde was the first team's home from 1937 to 1974, and the reserves now play there in black and yellow. Their main rivals are Schalke 04 II, and the meeting is known as the "Little Revierderby".

The Rote Erde holds 9,999 spectators.
