Bradford (Park Avenue)

The Avenue arrived in the National League North for the 2025–26 season still tied to a name that carries more history than the club playing under it now, and Horsfall Stadium, home since 1996, holds 3,500 with room for 1,800 seated.

The original Bradford Football Club began life in 1863 as a rugby side and only switched codes in 1907. That club was liquidated on 3 May 1974, £57,652 in debt. A phoenix club formed in 1987 took up the name and started again from the West Riding County Amateur League in 1988–89. The Football League Third Division North title of 1927–28 belongs to the pre-liquidation club; what the current side can claim outright are the Northern Premier League Division One championships of 2000–01 and 2007–08, a North West Counties League Division One title in 1994–95, and a Conference North play-off win in 2012.

Blue and white hoops are the settled colours now, though the shirt has changed twice before: green and white between 1914 and 1921, then red, amber and black through the wilderness years of 1974 to 1988. Farsley Celtic and Guiseley are the local rivalries the fixture list still produces.

Kevin Hector is the name the club still measures itself against, its record goalscorer. The Avenue's academy has also sent players the other way early: Len Shackleton left for Newcastle United for £13,000.
