CEAC / Araruama

CEAC/Araruama spent 2016 as two clubs trying to become one: a football project run by three doctors in Araruama, only weeks old, merged with Centro Esportivo Arraial do Cabo, an entity founded in the city back in 1994. The combined team kept the older date as its official founding year and carried the CEAC/Araruama name until 2023, when it reverted to Araruama Futebol Clube.

The club, known as Arara, wears blue at home and white away, and its best season came in 2022, when it won the Campeonato Carioca Série B1, beating Pérolas Negras 2-1 on aggregate in the final to secure promotion to Série A2. The title arrived a year after finishing runners-up in the Série B2, and the same season brought the Taça Maracanã. Silvestre dos Anjos coached that squad, and Kennedy was among the players who carried it through the campaign.

Home games are played at the Estádio Rei Pelé, also known as Estádio Lourival Gomes de Almeida, which holds 1,800 people.

The fixture that matters most in the Lake Region is against Associação Desportiva Cabofriense, the Clássico da Região dos Lagos.
