Ceramika Opoczno

In the 1998–99 season Ceramika Opoczno finished second in the II Liga's Eastern Group and went into a promotion playoff against Petrochemia Płock. They lost it. The club left the II Liga in 2004 after eight seasons there, the first of them in 1996.

That 1996 was also the year of the first trophy, and a small one: the Voivodeship Cup, won 5:1 after extra time against KKS Koluszki. The side founded in 1945 as O.M. T.U.R. Opoczno had gone through Budowlani, Stal, Opocznianka, Szamot and MLKS before becoming Ceramika in 1993. The rise into the II Liga came within three years of it.

The best run in the national Puchar Polski came in 2002–03. Ceramika knocked out Lech Poznań in the third round and reached the quarter-finals, where Wisła Kraków ended it. One example is the midfielder Jarosław Mazurkiewicz, who spent 2000–01 here on loan from Polonia Warszawa.

Today the club, known as Cera and playing in red and white, runs a youth academy, Akademia KS Ceramika Opoczno, and plays at the 5,000-capacity Stadion Ceramiki.

It came back in the 2010s, in the IV Liga.
