Broń Radom

Radom has two football clubs, and the Derby Radomia is played against Radomiak Radom. Broń is the older side and the one with the industrial roots. Its founders were employees of the State Arms Factory (Państwowa Wytwórnia Broni), and on 21 March 1926 they registered it as a club of cyclists and motorcyclists. From 1948 to 1958 it played as Stal, the factory's sports club. The nicknames still point back to the works: Broniarze, and "Chłopcy z Placu Broni", the Boys from Broń Square.

The best years came around 1980. Broń had first reached the second tier, the II liga, in 1957. It came back in 1979 and finished third in the Eastern Group in 1979/80. In 1981/82 it reached the last 16 of the Polish Cup. In 1985 it won the III liga's Lublin Group, a title earned after the club had already been relegated from the II liga in 1989's shadow, which is to say before the drop, not after it: the relegation came in 1989, and the title four years earlier.

After that the club spent decades below the second tier. It won the IV liga's Southern Group in 2017/18 and went back up. In 2026 it dropped from the III liga to the IV liga again.

Among footballers, Kazimierz Przybyś played at the 1986 World Cup. The name most tied to the present is Tomasz Dziubiński. He won 2 caps for Poland and was the first Pole to score in the UEFA Champions League. He is now the club's president.
