The town gave the club its name twice over. Founded in 1911 as Union sportive concarnoise, it merged with Beuzec Sport in 1930 to become USCB, then reverted to US Concarneau in 2017.

For most of its history the club moved through the lower divisions in short, local steps. The step that mattered came in 2022–23, when Concarneau won the Championnat National and reached Ligue 2 for the first time, prompting the switch to professional status as a SASP under Piriou Sport Développement.

Across Finistère, the fixture that still matters most is against Stade Plabennec, known locally as the Derby du Finistère.

Among those who have wound up in blue and red, Rayan Bamba arrived on loan from Rennes for 2024–25.
