Darvel

Since November 2025 Darvel have been managed by Nacho Novo, the former Rangers striker. He is the third manager since Mick Kennedy resigned in April 2023, three months after the club's best-known result. Tony McInally came in between and was dismissed in May 2024.

Novo takes over a club that spent most of its existence as a Junior side in a town in Ayrshire. Darvel moved to senior status in 2020/21, when the West of Scotland Football League (WoSFL) was restructured. They went up to its Premier Division a year later and won it at the first attempt.

The result people still cite came on 23 January 2023. Darvel, then a sixth-tier side, beat Aberdeen of the Scottish Premiership 1–0 in the fourth round of the Scottish Cup. Jordan Kirkpatrick scored the goal. Kennedy was in charge that day and resigned within three months.

McInally's season followed in 2023/24. Darvel won the West of Scotland League Cup and the Scottish Junior Cup, beating Talbot Thistle in the Junior Cup final.

Recreation Park, on Irvinebank Road, holds 2,200, but only 65 of those places are seats. The rest is terracing, and that is where the rivalry with Hurlford United and Beith Juniors is played out. The club has no name for either fixture.
