Dormaa Ahenkro sits deep in Ghana's Bono region. Debibi United grew up in that shadow, formed in 2015.

That changed in the 2025–26 season. Debibi United won Zone One B of the Access Bank Division One League with 60 points, then beat Tamale City 3–1 in the promotion playoff to reach the Ghana Premier League for the first time, securing a place in the 2026/27 season.

The club plays at the Agyeman Badu Stadium, known formally as the Oseadeyo Agyemang Badu I Sports Stadium, which holds 6,000. Kwadwo Obeng Jnr, a forward who had already played for Hearts of Oak and Heart of Lions, joined ahead of the promotion push. Before him, midfielder Hussein Mohammed had been the team's standout performer, good enough that Accra Hearts of Oak signed him to a three-year contract in August 2024.
