Vejle Stadion, holding just over 11,000, is the closest thing this side has to a settled home.
Denmark have never lifted the UEFA European Under-21 Championship. The closest they came was 1992, a semi-final run in the tournament's early years, and again in 2015, when Sweden beat them 4–1 at that stage in Prague — a defeat that still frames the rivalry between the two youth sides. Quarter-final exits followed in 1978, 1986, 2021 and 2025, along with one as an under-23 side back in 1972.
The gold medal from 1992 belongs to a different competition. Playing as an under-23 team at the Barcelona Olympics, Denmark beat Spain 3–2 in the final, a result the age-group programme has not matched at either tournament since.
Squads at this level turn over fast, but the names that came through it read like a roll call of the senior team's better years: Thomas Kahlenberg, Peter Møller, and more recently Pierre-Emile Højbjerg, Andreas Christensen and Yussuf Poulsen all wore the shirt on their way up. Marcus Ingvartsen remains the group's leading scorer with 17 goals, and Jonas Kamper holds the appearance record with 39 caps — a mark that says less about any one tournament than about how long he kept getting picked.
