East Stirlingshire

East Stirlingshire have spent most of their history in the shadow of their neighbour, Falkirk. They began as Bainsford Britannia and took their present name on 1 October 1880.

Between 1886 and 1894 they won the Stirlingshire Cup six times, and they have 22 wins in all, a record for the competition. The last came in 2001.

The top flight visited them twice, in 1932–33 and 1963–64. They finished bottom both times. Eddie McCreadie played for the club before Chelsea signed him, and he went on to win 23 caps for Scotland. Alex Ferguson, not yet knighted, managed the side in 1974.

In 2016 the club lost a play-off to Edinburgh City and dropped out of the Scottish Professional Football League (SPFL). No club had been relegated from the league system before, so East Stirlingshire were the first.

Their ground has moved around. Since 2008 they have shared Ochilview Park in Stenhousemuir, where 626 of the 3,746 places are seats. From 2018 to 2025 they played at Falkirk Stadium, then went back to Ochilview. Stenhousemuir, their landlord, is also a local rival.
