Extension Gunners

Tshepo Motlhabankwe, Abednico Powell, Raphael Nthwane — the roll call of Botswana internationals who came up through Extension Gunners runs long enough that Lobatse stopped being surprised by it.

That run ended in the 2022–2023 season, a 15th-place finish sending them down to the Debswana First Division South. They came back for 2024–2025 not by winning promotion but through a status swap with Jwaneng Young Stars. A chairman's resignation in late 2024 and debts past P100,000 followed.

None of that touches what the club did between 1992 and 1994, when it took three straight league titles playing as LCS Extension Gunners, sponsored by the Chopdat family's Lobatse Cash Stores. The sponsorship lapsed around 1995 and the name reverted, but the three-in-a-row still stands as the high point. Two Coca Cola Cups, in 1988 and 1992, and three Orange Kabelano Charity Cups came either side of it.

They still play at Lobatse Stadium, in white shirts and black shorts, still meet Township Rollers as their sharpest rivalry — one with no formal derby name, just history behind it.
