Gibraltar U21

Gibraltar's youth football is built around a place with a single national association and a senior side whose only real rivalry is political, with Spain. The under-21 team was set up by the Gibraltar Football Association in December 2016. Its nickname is borrowed from the seniors: "Team 54", a nod to the 54th FIFA Congress membership, and "Los Llanis". The crest is the association's own, and the kit is red at home and white away.

The first competitive matches came in 2017, in qualifying for the 2019 European Under-21 Championship. On 10 October 2017 Graeme Torrilla scored the only goal against North Macedonia, the team's first competitive win. A second victory took six years: 2–1 against Moldova on 21 November 2023. Between and after those results, the team has finished bottom of its group in every cycle from 2019 to 2027 and has never reached the final tournament.

The under-21 side matters more as a stage on the way up than for its table positions. James Scanlon went from it to Arsenal and has since won more than 20 senior caps. His namesake Luca Scanlon, at Burnley, made his senior debut at 16. Dylan Borge holds the record of 25 under-21 caps. The present captain, Kyle Clinton of Lincoln Red Imps, made his senior debut in 2025.

Home games are at Europa Point Stadium, which holds about 2,100 and stands in for the Victoria Stadium while that ground is rebuilt.

In the 2025 cycle the team took 3 points from 10 matches, conceding nine to Sweden and losing 1–3 to Moldova. In the 2027 group it played eight times without scoring a point and lost 12–0 to Scotland.
