Heidenheim U19

Long before there was a football side to speak of, Heidenheim an der Brenz had a gymnastics club, Turngemeinde Heidenheim, founded in 1846; football only became part of that body's life in 1911, and the club that eventually grew into 1. FC Heidenheim did not stand as its own football entity until 2007. The U19 side that carries the FCH badge today sits inside that same structure.

Its clearest export is Kevin Sessa, who moved up through the age group to become a regular starter in the Bundesliga.

Matches against VfB Stuttgart carry the weight of the Baden-Württemberg-Derby. The side plays out of the Voith-Arena, sharing the ground's blue, red and white with the rest of the club.

There is no DFB-Juniorenpokal and no U19 Bundesliga title on record, and the closest recent brush with the national cup ended early: in the 2021/22 edition, Hansa Rostock knocked them out in the first round, 4-0.
