Hiiumaa

Kärdla is the only town on Hiiumaa, an island off Estonia's west coast, and its football club has carried the island's name since 2018, when the club dropped the town identity it started with. It was registered in April 2002 as Jalgpalliklubi Kärdla Linnameeskond, playing under the shorthand Kärdla LM before the rebrand made the club FC Hiiumaa.

The club has spent most of its life in the lower divisions. A first title came in 2005, when it won the IV liiga lääs and moved up to the III liiga, and it came close to another step up in 2015, finishing second in the III liiga lääs. By the 2026 season it sits in the II liiga.

Cup football gave the club its biggest stage. In 2025, FC Hiiumaa reached the final of the Väike Karikas and played it before losing 4–2 to Paide Linnameeskond III.

There is no fixture on the calendar that means more locally than the meeting with Saaremaa's clubs, above all FC Kuressaare, in the Hiiumaa–Saaremaa maavõistlus.

Reimo Berkmann and Tõnis Koppel were the players who carried the scoring load through the club's early lower-league years, the names still attached to Hiiumaa football from before the island had a club bearing its own name.

Home games are played at the Kärdla linnastaadion, on an island where anyone at the match is likely to know the players by more than their names.
