Hyde United

Ewen Fields carries a sponsor's name now, Project Solar Stadium, and holds 4,250 people, 530 of them seated.

The current club is not the original one. Hyde F.C. was founded in 1885 and merged with Hyde St. George's in 1906, then folded in 1917 under what was recorded at the time as the "war reaction" — clubs withdrawing during the First World War.

Money has troubled the club more than once. Hyde United were founder members of the Northern Premier League in 1968 but left after two years for financial reasons, not returning until 1982. In 2009 the High Court wound the club up over debts; supporters raised the funds to save it, and by 27 June 2015 the Hyde United Supporters' Trust had taken over ownership outright. The 2011–12 season, under Gary Lowe, brought the Conference North title and a first spell in what is now the National League — followed by three successive relegations between 2014 and 2016 that sent the club back down to the Northern Premier League Division One.

The 2004–05 title itself carried a dispute: Farsley Celtic were initially awarded the Northern Premier League Premier Division crown before Hyde won it back on appeal, after Spennymoor United's results were expunged.
