Illertissen

Illertissen sits in Bavaria, close enough to the Württemberg border that the club once entered the other state's cup. A new clubhouse followed in 2004, and the ground is now the Vöhlinstadion, with room for about 3,000.

Illertissen took the Bavarian Amateur Championship that year and again in 2014, and in 2013–14 finished second in the Regionalliga Bayern behind Bayern Munich II. In 2014–15 the opponents were Werder Bremen, and Illertissen lost 2–3 after extra time.

Illertissen won it in 2021–22 and 2022–23, and again in 2024–25. The first two wins sent them to Heidenheim and Düsseldorf, where they lost 0–2 and 1–3. Regulations from the German Football Association (DFB) mean a national cup tie can be moved from the small ground to a larger one, such as the Donaustadion in Ulm or the WWK-Arena in Augsburg.

Four times the club has reached the first round of the DFB-Pokal, and four times it has gone out there. In the 2025/26 season it is still in the fourth tier, and it has never played a second round.
