Balingen

Balingen and Bahlinger SC play the "Ba(h)linger Topduell," a local derby. FC 07 Albstadt supplies the other regional grudge match.

Football at the club runs through a much older body: the Turn- und Sportgemeinschaft, a gymnastics association founded on 18 June 1848. The football side spent generations as one department among several before splitting off in September 2020 to become its own entity, TSG Balingen Fußball e. V.

The win sent Balingen into the DFB-Pokal for the first time. Promotion to the Regionalliga Südwest followed the 2017–18 Oberliga Baden-Württemberg title, and the club has since experienced both ends of that division: relegated in 2024, they went straight back up in 2025.

Laurin Curda spent two seasons in the Balingen defence before leaving for SC Paderborn 07 in 2023 and helping that side reach the Bundesliga.

Matches are played at the Bizerba Arena, previously known as the Au-Stadion, in wine-red and black. Early in the twentieth century the team was nicknamed "Die Schwarze Elf" — the Black Eleven — and long since fallen out of everyday use. It traces back to a gymnastics club that had nothing to do with football when it formed in 1848.
