Karlskrona

Three clubs from the same Blekinge naval town, Saltö BK, Karlskrona BK and Björkholmens IF, put their names aside in 1968 and became Karlskrona AIF. The blue and white they wore came with them from those predecessors.

The merged side found its level in the third and fourth tiers. A Division 2 Södra Götaland title in 1993 took it up to Division 1, the second tier, for 1994 and 1995. It returned to that division by winning Division 2 again in 1999, in 2001 and in 2016. In 1999 and 2001 it had also won Division 3 Sydöstra Götaland, so the same two seasons produced a title at each of those levels.

Karlskrona's rivals are close by. Matches against Mjällby AIF are called the "Blekingederby", and IFK Karlshamn is the other Blekinge opponent. Östers IF, from neighbouring Kronoberg, counts too. Mjällby also drew players away: Jesper Löfgren spent 2017 at Karlskrona, then moved to Mjällby and later to Djurgårdens IF. Jacob Bergström took the same route.

The ground holds 4,000.

The other change came on 31 October 2012, when Karlskrona AIF merged with Lyckeby GoIF. The result was FK Karlskrona, known as FKK. It played in the group stage of the Svenska Cupen in 2019/2020, though it has never won the competition. The club is once again the product of a merger, as it was in 1968.
