Hässleholmsderbyt pits HIF against Hässleholms BK.

The club, founded in 1922, took until 2022–23 to reach a national final of any kind, and did so in the Svenska Cupen — a first appearance in a cup final, lost to BK Häcken. Division 3 Sydöstra Götaland in 2012 opened the door to Division 2, and winning Division 2 Södra Götaland in 2024 pushed HIF into Ettan Södra, the third tier, for 2025.

Home games are played in front of green and white, the club known simply as HIF or "de gröna." The academy's clearest export is Elias Andersson, who left Hässleholm for Helsingborgs IF before a career that took him to Djurgårdens IF — where he won the UEFA Europa Conference League in 2023 — and on to Lech Poznań, with a Sweden debut that included a free-kick goal against Iceland.

What HIF has not managed is a cup win to match that 2023 final, or a spell in the second tier to test itself against sterner opposition than Ettan offers.
