Kristianstad

Promotion out of Division 2 Södra Götaland in 2025 sent Kristianstad FC up the Swedish pyramid. The lineage behind the FF side runs back further still, to a football section formed within IFK Kristianstad in 1899.

The club plays as KFC, or more descriptively as Gulsvarta, the Yellow-Blacks, after the strip its predecessors wore. That earlier era produced the club's honours: Division 3 Sydöstra Götaland in 1993, then Division 2 Södra Götaland twice, in 1998 and 2008.

Home games are played at Kristianstads Fotbollsarena, a ground holding around 2,500 that replaced Kristianstads IP, a considerably larger venue that once held closer to 6,000. Local derbies against Hässleholms IF and Österlen FF still draw the sharpest interest in the area, matches referred to locally as kommunderbies.

Kristianstad's women's side, Kristianstads DFF, is run separately and has climbed further, reaching Damallsvenskan, the top tier of Swedish women's football, and fielding internationals including Nilla Fischer . A ninth-place finish in Division 1 Södra in 1999 remains close to the ceiling of what the club has managed nationally.
