Leobendorf

2017/18 saw the club win the 1. Niederösterreichische Landesliga, the fourth tier, and with it a first-ever promotion to the Regionalliga Ost. Sascha Laschet, in his second season as head coach, took the club up.

The climb had not been steady. Leobendorf dropped down in 1996 and again in 2010, and further back, between 1951 and 1953, the men's team stopped altogether under the weight of post-war conditions before re-entering the second class. Each time the club found its way back to the tier it had lost, winning the 2. Niederösterreichische Landesliga twice, in 1998/99 and again in 2010/11, on the way.

Cup football brought its own reward in 2016, when Leobendorf took the Lower Austria Cup and with it a place in the Austrian Cup proper. There they beat USV Allerheiligen before running into Rapid Wien in the second round.

Recruitment here has tended toward the far end of a career rather than the start of one: Miroslav Milošević arrived in 2020, Marco Sahanek in 2023, Mario Pavelić this year. The 1,500-seat ground on Burggasse, opened in 1983, was renamed Sparkasse Korneuburg in 2019.

None of it traces back further than 1933, when the club was formed in the town whose name it still carries.
