Ludogorets Women

Ludogorets Women head into their third season in the Bulgarian Women's League as champions: last term they finished the league on 26 wins and a single draw, beating Lokomotiv Stara Zagora 3-2 in the match that settled the title, and added the Bulgarian Women's Cup in the same campaign.

The section did not grow from a youth setup. In August 2023 Ludogorets reached an agreement with WFC Varna to take on its players and infrastructure, and the new team was presented to supporters on 26 August that year, effectively stepping into Varna's place in the league. A seventh-place finish in the debut season and fourth the year after gave little warning of what followed.

Vanessa Gajdek scored 20 goals in that first campaign; Nora Dimitrova has since become the player most tied to the Bulgarian national team's fortunes.

There is no derby with a name attached, nothing like the men's fixture against CSKA Sofia. The league itself supplies the rivalry: NSA Sofia and OFC Sofia 1992 are the sides Ludogorets have had to get past, and matches against NSA Sofia in particular have carried the weight of deciding where the title goes.
