Maharlika

Before there was a club, there was a seven-a-side all-star team put together in 2019. It reached the final of the Kampeon Cup and lost 5–3 to Cebu Leylam FC. Anton del Rosario, a former Philippine national team defender, was one of the people behind it. Maharlika first played in the Philippines Football League (PFL) in 2020, under the name Maharlika Manila and later as Maharlika Taguig, at McKinley Hill Stadium, which was known as Emperador Stadium in its early years.

The club calls itself Koponan ng Masa, the "Team of the Masses". The kit is black, with a magenta left sleeve and a sky blue right one.

Its first season went well. Jeremy Theuer scored the winner against Stallion Laguna in the club's first PFL victory, and Jose Montelibano had already scored its first PFL goal. Misagh Bahadoran, a former Iranian international, arrived that year. Maharlika finished fifth in 2020, and it finished fifth again in 2022–23.

Goals have come from abroad. Kim Sung-min was the league's top scorer in 2022 and Ibrahima Ndour in 2023. Junior Mailly led the table in 2024 with seven, and Serge Kaole shared the lead in 2024–25 with five. Del Rosario came back as a player in 2023, having left after the early seasons.

The Copa Paulino Alcantara has gone unevenly. In 2022 Maharlika reached the semi-finals, where United City knocked them out. A year later it went out in the quarter-finals to Stallion Laguna, 8–0 on aggregate. The club still has no major trophy, and fifth place remains its best league finish.
