Ullevaal Stadion holds 28,000 and belongs to the senior team first; the U19s use it mainly as a base for training and press work between fixtures that are scattered across other grounds around the country.

The team's competitive life runs through the UEFA European Under-19 Championship. The best return came in 1992, still playing as an U18 side: third place, secured by beating England 8-7 on penalties after the sides had drawn 1-1.

Squads at this level are remembered less for medals than for who passed through on the way up. Erling Haaland made 9 appearances and scored 10 goals for the U19s across 2017 and 2018. Martin Ødegaard skipped the age group entirely, moving straight from youth football to the U21s and the senior side without a U19 cap to his name.
