Promotion out of the IV Liga Wielkopolska in 2023 gave Noteć Czarnków its highest league standing yet.

The side traces back to 1920, though it has not carried one name throughout that time: it started out as KS Nałęcz, turned into KSM after the war, then KS Kolejarz, and only took the Noteć name in 1973. Stadion Noteć Czarnków, where the club has played since, holds 1,360 spectators across two stands — 960 seats on the west side, 400 on the east.

The name most attached to the club is Mateusz Hempe, a goalkeeper who kept goal for Noteć Czarnków and for Poland's Deaf national team before his death in 2024.
