Unia Swarzędz

A year earlier the club had gone the other way, losing the same final 0:2 to Sokół Kleczew, and lost it once before that too, in 2009/2010, against Polonia Środa Wielkopolska.

The club dates to 15 August 1921 and spent its first years without a settled name, playing simply as the town's team before "Unja" was adopted in 1923 and later modernised to Unia. Purple and white gave way to the current blue and white after the Second World War, around the time the club absorbed the members of the dissolved Stowarzyszenie Sportowe Swarzędz. Promotion has come in fits: up from the A-klasa in 2015/2016, then out of the IV liga Wielkopolska into the III liga in 2021/2022, that last step awarded on a walkover after Kotwica Kórnik fielded an ineligible player.

Home games are played at the ground named after Marian Zaporowski, 1,500 capacity, on ulica św. Marcina.

Andrzej Fischer started here before Olimpia Poznań, Lech Poznań and Górnik Zabrze took him further, and it was with Poland that he won bronze at the 1974 World Cup. He died in 2018, but at Unia Swarzędz he is still the name the club is known by.
