Pitomača

Sokol, the gymnastics movement, gave Pitomača its first football side. Its members founded the Pitomački športski klub Pitomača in 1921. The name NK Pitomača came in 1950. The club was re-registered with the Croatian Football Federation on 16 December 1995, after Yugoslavia had broken up. Even so, the town counts its age from 1921. In 2021 it marked the hundred years with a veterans' match, and Miljenko Mumlek, Nikola Šafarić and Hrvoje Štrok played in it.

Pitomača is a small town in Virovitica-Podravina County, and its team takes the town's name as a nickname: Pitomačani. They play in black and blue at Stadion Pitomača on Vinogradska ulica, a ground that holds up to 1,500 people. The nearest rival is NK Podravina Ludbreg, and their meetings are called the Podravski derbi. Koprivnica and Graničar are also regular opponents in the region.

Bigger results came late. In 2016 the club reached the final of the preliminary rounds of the Croatian Cup. The year 2023 brought two trophies. The side won the 4. NL Bjelovar–Koprivnica–Virovitica, the regional Fourth National League, and the Virovitica-Podravina County Cup. Later that year the municipality named the team among its best sports performers.

The club has no website or social media of its own. Its fixtures and results appear on the Croatian Football Federation's Semafor platform and in the local press. Its task now is to hold its place in the Fourth National League, the level it reached by winning the title in 2023.
