Příbram II

That first team has changed its name more times than most — SK Březové Hory, Baník Příbram, FC Dukla Příbram after the 1996 merger with the Prague army club, then Marila, then 1. FK Příbram. The reserve side carries none of that weight. It exists to feed the first team, not to be remembered in its own right, and it plays under the same roof, at Stadion Na Litavce.

Příbram II competes in the ČFL, the fourth tier, several levels below where the first team has spent its best seasons — a 2000–01 finish in fourth place in the Czech First League, a run to the 1996–97 Czech Cup final. None of that history belongs to the reserve side directly; what belongs to it is the churn of young players passing through on their way somewhere else, names like Filip Ret, Alexandr Bárta and Vojtěch Havelka appearing in recent squads before, ideally, they stop appearing there at all and turn up higher up the club.

There is no trophy cabinet to speak of at this level, and no rivalry that means much beyond the region — the derby against Kladno belongs to the first team, not this one. The reserve side plays instead for a smaller, more practical kind of relevance: a bridge between the youth ranks and a first team that still colours itself black and green, in a club that first took shape in 1928.
