Rot-Weiß Walldorf

Before it was Rot-Weiß, the side from Walldorf was FV Viktoria Walldorf, a village football club that took the field for the first time in 1914. In 1927 it became SV Rot-Weiß Walldorf, and the red and white it still wears dates from then. After the Second World War the club was re-founded in 1946 and started over.

The rivalry that matters here was settled early. In 1930 Walldorf met FC Viktoria 09 Urberach in a promotion match that decided which of them went up, and the two clubs have carried that game with them since. The fixture has no name of its own, and it needs none.

The Landesliga Hessen title came to Walldorf five times: in 1951, 1957, 1969, 1978 and 1988. A year later it won the Verbandsliga Hessen Süd.

The youth system has produced players who went well beyond that level. Niklas Süle was in the youth ranks from 2004 to 2006. Kevin Pezzoni came through in the second half of the 1990s.
