San Marino Academy

The men's side sits in only its third season of senior football, having entered the Campionato Sammarinese as an Under-22 project in 2023–24, while the women's team carries the heavier competitive load within a structure built and run by the San Marino Football Federation rather than as an independent club.

The clearest marker of that progress came in 2020–21, when the women's team went up to Serie A Femminile under Alain Conte, who left the post the following year.

The Academy grew out of a 2017 restructuring that pulled the existing women's team, founded in 2004, together with youth football and futsal under one federation-run banner. Matches are played at the Stadio di Acquaviva, a ground that holds a few hundred spectators rather than thousands, which suits a club whose purpose has always been closer to a pathway than a traditional local side.

That pathway is best summed up by Nicko Sensoli, who came through the Academy's Under-22 side before moving on to Tre Fiori and then Cremonese, and who scored San Marino's first-ever Nations League goal in 2024 — the kind of moment the project was built to produce.
