Sanem

Club Sportif Sanem traces its first attempt to 1919, folded within a couple of years, came back at the turn of the 1930s, and folded again. The version that has lasted was put together on 21 October 1946, and that date is the one the club counts from.

It has stayed a modest concern ever since. CS Sanem sits in the 1. Division, the third tier of Luxembourgish football, and has never lifted a national league title or the Luxembourg Cup with its men's senior team.

What silverware exists came from an unexpected corner: the women's futsal team won the club's first trophy, the Provincial Cup, in April 2025.

The more pointed contest is local. Sanem shares its commune with two other clubs, FC The Belval Belvaux and FC Ehlerange, and matches between the three are known around town as the Sanem Trio.

Beyond that, CS Sanem remains what it has been for most of its existence: a club with a survival story behind it but no major honour in front of it, still waiting on a first men's trophy to match the one its futsal side found.
