SC United Bantams

SC United Bantams play in USL League Two, and in 2021 they won its Deep South Division.

The name explains the colours. The club is affiliated with Bradford City in England, so it took that club's nickname, the Bantams, and its maroon and gold, which the English side calls burgundy and amber. In 2014 the South Carolina team left W.C. Hawkins Stadium at Irmo High School for the Southeastern Freightliner Soccer Complex in Columbia, a ground of about 2,000 seats, and became SC United.

The two clubs call it the South Carolina Derby or the Palmetto State Derby, and Charleston Battery are the other opponent the club measures itself against in the state.

Goalkeeper Bobby Edwards went from here to FC Cincinnati and Indy Eleven. Jake McGuire went on to Bethlehem Steel FC and North Carolina FC.

The division title of 2021 remains the club's only honour. Open Cup, but the facts I have do not show a run in it that made anyone outside the state take notice.
