Sintrense

Promotion to the II Divisão Nacional in 1964 remains the high point of Sintrense's history, and it came only after the club had first won the Lisbon Football Association's top regional championship in 1952-53. What followed was fourteen seasons in the second tier through the 1960s and into the 70s, the longest run of relevance the club has managed, before relegation in 1978 — a drop tied to the professionalisation then sweeping Portuguese football rather than to one bad campaign.

Founded on 7 October 1911, the club plays in yellow and dark blue, the colours behind the nickname Amarelos. The Estádio do Sport União Sintrense holds 2,800, modest even within the district. Derby matches against Sociedade União 1.º Dezembro, known locally as the Derby de Sintra, have supplied the rivalry since.

Financial strain through the 2000s and into the following decade led the club to restructure as a Sociedade Anónima Desportiva in 2016. Ownership has changed twice since: a group including former international Nani took control of the SAD in 2024, and Germany's Blue Ocean Group acquired it in 2026. In this season's Taça de Portugal, Sintrense beat Primeira Liga side Rio Ave 3-2 in the third round before FC Porto ended the run in the fourth.
