Stade d'Abidjan

Two clubs fed into what became Stade d'Abidjan: PIC and OC Abidjan merged in 1936 to form ASFI, the Association Sportive de la Fédération des Ivoiriens, a side built for Ivorian players. The name changed twice more, to U.S.F. Abidjan and then Olympique Club Abidjan, before Stade d'Abidjan was settled on in 1959.

The years that followed were the club's strongest. Five league titles came between 1962 and 1969, and in 1966 they became the first Ivorian side to win the African Cup of Champions Clubs. The final against Real Bamako finished 5-4 on aggregate. Stade lost the first leg 3-1 away, then won the return 4-1 at home. Maurice Déhi scored twice over the tie, Henri Ahibo set up a goal and scored the equaliser, and Joseph Bléziri got the winner. Emmanuel Ezan was in goal.

After that the trophies thinned out. The Coupe de Côte d'Ivoire arrived five times between 1971 and 2000, and the West African Club Championship followed in 1977. The league title did not return for 56 years. It came in 2025, with goalkeeper Sylvain Gbohouo, who signed in 2023, in the side. The team, known as les Yéyés, play in blue, red and white at the 5,000-capacity Stade Robert Champroux.

Their neighbours in the city are Racing Club d'Abidjan, and the meeting between the two is the Derby d'Abidjan.
